Smart glasses for augmented reality at work

Augmented reality, hands free: a heads-up display for the person on the floor or in the field, no headset to put on.

In a real room

The lightest way to add a layer

A guide in a gallery, a technician at an assembly bay, a grower in a field: the real world stays, and a small display adds to it.

Programs

Which programs run on it

Glasses suit the moment after training: a prompt, a step, a route, delivered while the hands stay on the job.

Prompts, steps and wayfinding for the person already at work

An induction that walks a new starter through a site, a knowledge twin whose answer appears in the eyeline, a museum guide’s cue card. Rehearsing the conversation itself stays in a headset or a browser.

What it does in a real room

The families differ in what they show. Ray-Ban Meta carries a camera and an assistant with no display; Meta Ray-Ban Display, XREAL, Rokid and Even Realities each put a small screen or heads-up display in the lens. Even Realities states "up to 1.5 days on a single charge" for the G1.

Augmented reality at PTR covers what the added layer does for practice.

The fleet

What a fleet needs

Most glasses pair with a phone, so the fleet question is the phone fleet and the accounts behind it.

Phones to pair with, and prescriptions to fit

Prescription lenses, a charging case per wearer and the wifi a site allows are the planning items; headsets and equipment lists the IT questions, and governance covers a camera on a face in a workplace.

Who chooses it

Museums and galleries, field crews, and service teams whose people cannot stop to look at a phone: the layer has to arrive while the work continues.

Government and public sector and mobile experiences describe the fit from their side.

What PTR ships

What PTR ships on it

PTR builds augmented reality for the phone in the pocket and for glasses where a program has them.

Augmented reality layers, built for the device in use

The AR Business Card, PTR’s live augmented reality build, runs on a phone today; an XR fast build takes the same layer to glasses when a program owns them. Phones and tablets covers the widest-reach route.

Questions

What do buyers ask about Smart glasses?

Examining a form and its shadow.

Can staff rehearse a conversation in smart glasses?

Glasses show a prompt or a step; they do not put a counterpart in the room. A rehearsal with a simulated person runs in a headset or with an AI roleplay partner in a browser.

Which glasses does PTR build for?

The pairs a program owns. PTR agrees suitable hardware with you when a build is planned; What is augmented reality explains what each display class can show.

Is a phone a better start than glasses?

A phone reaches everyone from the start, and the same layer moves to glasses later. Phones and tablets covers that route.

Over the past six months, XRHealth Australia has worked closely with People Tech Revolution to co-design innovative immersive applications... supporting workplace mental health and recovery in the transport industry. Simon and his team have been exceptional collaborators: creative, responsive and genuinely committed to human-centred design. Their ability to understand clinical and operational needs and translate complex ideas into safe, realistic VR environments has made the partnership both productive and enjoyable. Together, we are developing practical, evidence-informed tools that build confidence, resilience and coping strategies through structured, real-world scenarios. I highly recommend People Tech Revolution as a trusted technology partner.

I don't think role plays will ever cut it again in this space. Participants are able to empathise and discuss the experiences... with detail that just wouldn't be possible without actually experiencing it themselves.
