Didymo / Avatar

Meet a digital twin face to face

A live face on a phone or laptop screen, answering from approved material, for the conversations that need one.

What the avatar is

The twin, with the face of the person

The avatar puts a live face on the same conversation. The visitor sees the professional’s likeness speak the answer, on the phone or laptop screen they already have.

A teacher sits in a classroom mid-sentence, the kind of practice partner a learner practises a difficult conversation with before doing it for real

Before the face, the structure

Before a twin has a likeness it has approved knowledge, boundaries and the character built around them. The face is the last layer, and every answer it speaks comes from the approved material behind it.

A woman gestures toward a blank mannequin head on a bench while a colleague holds a clipboard, screens of soft colour behind them.

Consent and likeness, settled first

A twin of a real person needs consent, copyright and governance settled before it speaks. Data is processed in the locations and under the terms set out in our governance.

When to use the avatar

For the conversations that need a face

Some visitors want to see who they are talking to: a first meeting, a sensitive question, an introduction before the real one.

An introduction before the introduction

A prospective client, student or member meets the professional’s face and manner before they meet the person, and arrives at the real meeting already oriented.

A face that knows when to step aside

The avatar answers from approved material and hands over to the person when a conversation needs them, with the context carried across. It can book that time from inside the conversation.

The other ways in

Same twin, same material, a different door

The avatar is one way into the same conversation. A visitor can move to chat, a voice call or a booked meeting without starting again.

The live instance

PTR’s CEO, Simon Lowe, as a twin with his own face

Simon’s Twin runs on Didymo. It answers the questions people bring to People Tech Revolution with his face and in his voice, at any hour. It is a conversational digital twin, not a model of a machine.

A twin forms above knowledge objects.

Is the avatar live?

It is. The avatar speaks each answer as the conversation happens, drawn from the approved material, in the twin’s own voice.

A woman stands inside a glowing curved boundary with a translucent panel in front of her, a safety net drawn around a conversation.
A boundary drawn around a conversation.

Who decides what the avatar may say?

The owner. The approved-source list is the boundary of what the twin may say, and the owner reviews and corrects answers over time.

Practice on a monitor, a laptop or a phone. An AI roleplay scenario for AI roleplay and practice.
A monitor, a laptop and a phone.

Does the visitor need a headset?

The avatar runs on a phone or laptop screen in the browser, with nothing to install. Headset versions of a talking character belong to PTR’s XR work.

I don't think role plays will ever cut it again in this space. Participants are able to empathise and discuss the experiences... with detail that just wouldn't be possible without actually experiencing it themselves.
