XR / Headsets and devices / Apple Vision Pro
Mixed reality with the real room kept in view, steered by eyes and hands, for a scenario set where the work happens.
In a real room
A Vision Pro program keeps the ward, the gallery or the office in view and places the counterpart in it.
Programs
A Vision Pro program is a custom build: the scenario is written for the room it runs in.
Clinical and patient conversations at a real bedside, inclusive service at a real counter, induction on the real floor. The counterpart answers back where the work happens, and the debrief follows in the same room.
Apple lists hands, eyes and voice as the inputs, so a learner looks at a choice and taps a finger to take it, with no controller to learn. Apple states "Up to 2.5 hours of general use" for the battery, which shapes a session plan into turns (Apple Vision Pro tech specs).
What mixed reality adds to practice is on mixed reality at PTR.
The fleet
Vision Pro is fitted to the wearer, so a fleet is planned around named users or a fitting step at the door.
The external battery, the light seal sizes and Apple ID management are the IT questions; headsets and equipment lists what to send before the kit arrives, and governance covers where the data lives.
Innovation and digital leads with a scenario that has to happen in the real room, a museum floor, a showroom, a simulation centre, and a small group who will wear the same headset again and again.
Innovation and digital leads and clinical educators describe the fit from their side.
What PTR ships
PTR shows its guided walk-throughs on Vision Pro in mixed reality, the real room kept and the exhibit layer placed on it.
A Vision Pro program starts as an XR fast build: a block-out of your room, a walk-through in the headset, then a decision made on something people have stood in. The Quest Pro page shows the same walk-through in VR.

Both: a scene can replace the room or keep it. PTR uses it where the real room is part of the lesson, so the mixed reality side leads. What is mixed reality explains the difference.
The PTR VR Library titles ship on standalone headsets such as Meta Quest and PICO. A Vision Pro program is a custom build, scoped with you at planning.
Apple states "Up to 2.5 hours of general use" on a charge, so sessions run in turns with charging between them. How a pilot runs sets the rhythm of the day.
