Didymo / Voice

Talk to a digital twin, out loud

Speak instead of typing. A voice call with Didymo, on the phone or in a browser, in the twin’s own voice.

What voice is

A call, answered in the twin’s own voice

The visitor speaks and Didymo answers aloud. The call runs on the phone or in the browser, with nothing to install, and every answer comes from material the organisation has approved.

The same approved material, spoken

What the twin says aloud is drawn from the same approved material as its chat. Nothing is added because the answer is spoken, and the owner keeps the approved-source list as the boundary of what it may say.

A person stays over every call

The owner reviews what Didymo has said and corrects it when it needs correcting. When a question needs a person, the call hands over to them with the context carried across.

When to use voice

For people who would rather talk

Voice suits the visitor who is driving, walking a site or finds typing slow, and the question that needs a back-and-forth to land.

Hands busy, question ready

A driver at a depot, a worker on a site or a carer between rooms can ask the way they would ask a colleague, and hear the answer without looking at a screen.

A voice the visitor recognises

The call is in the twin’s own voice, so a visitor who knows the person hears someone familiar. When the conversation needs the person, it hands over or books time with them.

The other ways in

Same twin, same material, a different door

Voice is one way into the same conversation. A visitor can move to chat, a live avatar or a booked meeting without starting again.

The live instance

PTR’s CEO, Simon Lowe, as a twin in his own voice

Simon’s Twin runs on Didymo. It answers the questions people bring to People Tech Revolution in Simon’s voice, at any hour, from material he has approved. It is a conversational digital twin, not a model of a machine.

Questions

What buyers ask about voice

Short answers, one to a row.

Two people follow four stations in a pipeline. A VR training scenario for AI and XR.
People follow the stations of a pipeline.

Whose voice is it?

The twin’s own. A twin of a real person needs consent, copyright and governance settled before it speaks, and data is processed in the locations and under the terms set out in our governance.

The twin hands over to an adviser.

What if the twin cannot answer?

It says so rather than guessing, and hands the call to a person or offers to book time with them, with what has been said carried across.

A monitor, a laptop and a phone.

What does a visitor need to make the call?

A phone, or a browser with a microphone. The call starts from the site where the twin lives, and there is nothing to install.

I don't think role plays will ever cut it again in this space. Participants are able to empathise and discuss the experiences... with detail that just wouldn't be possible without actually experiencing it themselves.
