Healthcare & Medical case studies
Two of PTR's most established engagements are in healthcare: a culture program with Mater Education in Queensland, and a peer reviewed nurse leadership program with Mayo Clinic in the United States. Both pair a first-person VR scenario with a facilitated, human-led debrief rather than leaving the learning to the headset alone.

Mater Education: Speaking with Good Judgement
PTR brought branched VR scenarios into Mater Education's Speaking with Good Judgement culture program, letting healthcare staff practise psychologically safe feedback conversations inside familiar hospital environments. Delivered face to face to more than 60 participants across Mater's Queensland campuses. As reported by Mater Education following the program evaluation, 93% enjoyed the experience, 90% recorded increased focus, and 96% wanted more VR based learning.
Mayo Clinic: A Day In A Lifetime
Co-designed with Mayo Clinic nursing staff from their own lived experience, this series of short VR scenarios helps nurse leaders confront bias, racism and difficult conversations, with small-group facilitated debriefs after each one. Delivered to more than 1,100 nurse and social worker leaders across three campuses, it is documented in a peer reviewed Journal of Nursing Administration paper.
