# Everyday Inclusion

A three-part VR title that lets people feel unconscious bias, microaggressions and intersectionality from the inside, then practise the conversation that follows. Part of the PTR VR Library, running since 2018.

Across the table, a reply still to choose.

An open-plan office, a remark, a choice.

## Most training describes bias. This title lets you feel it.

A slide can define a microaggression. It cannot put you in the seat of the person who has just been talked over for the third time while the room carries on.

Everyday Inclusion puts you there first, then moves you into the manager's chair to decide what to say about it.

## What changes for your organisation

The three parts give managers and teams a shared memory of the same moments, and a place to practise the response before it is needed at work.

The conversation after, rehearsed across a table.

### A conversation managers get one shot at

Unconscious bias, microaggressions and intersectionality are each experienced first-hand, and each is followed by the conversation a manager has to be able to lead with empathy and confidence.

Teams leave with the moment they noticed and the words they wish they had used, which is what changes the next real conversation.

## How a session runs

A headset, a facilitator and a debrief, in that order. Each part runs between 4 and 10 minutes, and PTR delivers Library sessions with a facilitated group discussion straight afterwards.

Some features need an internet connection; the Library collects no personal data, though it may collect app-improvement and analytics data.

Fitting the headset before the first part starts.

In someone else's position, a facilitator watching.

Rehearsing the conversation before having it for real.

The debrief, where what was noticed gets said.

> "It's not just about seeing a different perspective - it's about feeling it. That's where real change begins."

## Built with Cornell University

Everyday Inclusion was co-designed with Cornell University and diversity and inclusion expert Angela Winfield, whose job was to keep every scene grounded in experiences of bias people had reported.

Comparing scene cards across the title's languages.

### In three languages, for more than one workplace

Everyday Inclusion is available in English, French and German. It began with Cornell and has since run with airlines, rail operators and technology companies.

It was originally created with Equal Reality, a subsidiary of People Tech Revolution, and has grown into a stand-alone title within the PTR VR Library, alongside Finding Common Ground and Speak to Me Normally.

## Where it has run

One of PTR's longest-running titles, and the module PTR drew on for Etihad Airways' cabin crew inclusion pilot and for Metro Trains' gender equity workshops, each time alongside facilitated discussion rather than as a headset session on its own.

Cabin crew: the Etihad pilot ran it over two days with Mind Shift and a facilitated Yarning Circle.

Rail leaders: Metro Trains ran it in three workshops split by audience.

Universities and corporate teams: the same title, the same debrief.
