# The moment nobody gets to rehearse

People Tech Revolution builds VR and AI training for the conversations that are hard to practise safely at work.

The counterpart a learner rehearses with, mid-sentence.

Every sector has its own version of that moment: the feedback a nurse holds back, the doorstep a case worker dreads, the comment a manager lets slide. PTR builds the room where people practise it before it costs them.

Most of the sectors below have delivered programs with published results; [justice](https://peopletechrevolution.com/work/industries/justice-community-services) and [mining](https://peopletechrevolution.com/work/industries/mining-resources) have their scenarios built and ready for a first cohort. Pick your sector for its projects and its evidence.

## The sectors PTR builds for

The conversation each one has to get right, and the room where it happens. The pressure changes with the room; the moment somebody decides what to say next does not.

A bedside conversation in a ward bay.

### Healthcare & Medical

Clinical and hospital staff rehearse feedback, bias and speaking up before they have to do it for real. Includes our work with Mater Education and Mayo Clinic.

A participant addresses four colleagues around a table.

### Education

University inclusion training, and classrooms where students cook the lesson. Includes our work with Cornell University and FoodStream Network.

### Government & Public Sector

Training that runs at a council event, a reception desk or a classroom, on desktop, mobile, tablet or VR headset. Includes our work with Central Coast Council and Advance Queensland.

### Aged Care

Care providers and their staff, from the resident's side of the moment, including responding to changed behaviours in dementia.

### Disability

NDIS providers and their support workers, and direct support teams in the United States. Includes our disability-awareness work with Central Coast Council.

> "VR offers immersive, realistic simulations that help trainees develop practical skills in a safe setting. This hands-on experience is particularly valuable in fields like healthcare, emergency response, and manufacturing, where practical skills are crucial."

### Workplace & Enterprise

Leadership development, diversity and inclusion training, and organisational change programs, for the moments bias shows up at work. Includes our work with Google, Metro Trains and Etihad Airways.

### Justice & Community Services

Immersive practice for the conversations that carry this work: court support, youth diversion, intake, outreach and mentoring. PTR builds for this sector.

### Mining & Resources

How a first build gets paid for

## A grant, a regulator, a program, and a report in your name

Where the money for a first build came from, and why the next funder asks to see the report.

Three people compare choices in the debrief.

### Every way in leads to the same place

Three people stand in a bare room at the end of a scenario, working out what they would do differently. Getting them there takes funding, and the shape is the same each time: a funded pilot, a measured cohort, a report in your own name.

[Mater Education's pilot](https://peopletechrevolution.com/work/case-studies/mater-speaking-with-good-judgement) was co-funded by an Advance Queensland grant and by Mater's own contribution. XRHealth Australia's transport pilot was already funded when PTR joined it. Central Coast Council built inside an access and inclusion strategy of its own.

## The places this work happens

A scenario is built in the room the conversation really happens in, because the room is half of what makes it hard. Each caption below says which sector the setting is for and what gets rehearsed in it.

Healthcare: a quiet handover on the night ward.

Mining: raising a hazard at shift change.

Government: a resident approached on the boardwalk.

### A depot at knock-off, a classroom a long way from town

Two more rooms built for the sector that rehearses in them, with the same decision to practise in each.

Transport: a return-to-work talk at the depot.

Education: answering a student in a remote classroom.

## How we work across sectors

One method carries every sector above. What changes is the room, and the behaviour being practised in it.

A co-founder walks a room through the method.

### A room, a decision, and a debrief

Every build has three parts: a room that looks like yours, a conversation or decision to practise, and a facilitated debrief that turns what just happened into what to do next time.

The room is what changes. A hospital break room, a classroom, a council reception desk, a meeting room. Each sector page links to the case studies and the evidence behind it.

## Scenarios that cross every sector

Some conversations belong to no industry in particular. Adjustments, escalations, feedback, and the wait for a reply.

Asking a manager for an adjustment.

Checking in with a remote colleague.

Handing an escalation to a colleague.

## Inside the room, not watching it

The headset turns a scenario into somewhere you are standing, and the pause before someone answers starts to feel like your own.

Waiting for the conversation to begin.

Waiting alone in the staff room.

## The same conversation, without the headset

Every sector here needs its own room built before anyone can practise in it. The conversation inside that room needs no equipment at all.

One way of working, many sectors.

### Practice that does not wait for a headset

A ward, a courtroom, a rail platform and an underground drift ask for different rooms. What they share is the conversation itself, and that can be rehearsed in writing or out loud on the screen a team already has.

Which one fits depends on what has to be practised, not on what equipment is in the building.
